These are the lyrics to a song I’ve been working on for a couple years now. The first verse came to me one day in the shower, to the tune of Tom Petty’s Last Dance. Obviously I was single at the time. The second verse came to me one day while I was away from the wife for five weeks. Anyway, just think of the harmonica part at the break. It just needs a verse in between these two to connect them, and/or something to end it. Other than that though, I think it’s perfect so far.

Bold title, I know. Don’t get me wrong, I love music. But I don’t believe that anyone who truly loves music could possibly claim that they’re happy with the industry today, or even for the last 70 years or so. And it all comes down to one single, seemingly-innocent-yet-all-too-emphasized issue: The music industry is just that- industry. They’re about the money, not the music. That’s the problem.
